Before starting your required 6-Hour Behind-the-Wheel Program, please contact our office to complete the registration process.
To obtain your Special Learner's Permit, you must provide the following:
- ✅Original Birth Certificate or Valid Passport
- ✅Copy of Social Security Card
- ✅$10 Check or Money Order payable to NJ MVC (No Cash Accepted)
- ✅Proof of Knowledge Test Completion (MVC Written Test)
Our staff will review your documents, answer any questions, and guide you through the permit process to ensure everything is completed correctly before your first lesson.

Written Test & Vision Screening
At 16, students must pass the NJ MVC written knowledge test. Did you know? We can administer the written and vision tests directly in our office, saving you a trip to the MVC.
6-Hour Behind-the-Wheel Program
The state-mandated foundation for all 16-year-old drivers. We cover vehicle controls, steering, turning, intersections, and parking.

After we validate the learner's permit, the teen must complete a minimum of 6 months of supervised driving with a licensed adult (over 21 with 3+ years experience). We offer additional private lessons during this time if needed.
The Road Test
On their 17th birthday (or after 6 months of practice), they are eligible for the road test. We offer a refresher lesson and the use of our dual-controlled car for the actual test to ensure maximum confidence.
